The Thai rattan furniture industry began in 1957 when our company “Hawaii Furniture and Construction” set up a small shop selling rattan furniture in Pathumwan, Bangkok, The furniture became very popular, especially among the American soldiers living in Thailand during the Vietnam War. This led to the opening of four branches, with the head office located in Pathumwan, Later, we expanded our business abroad with the establishment of Hawaii Thai Export Co., Ltd. In 1976, which orersaw and handled all exports. Our furniture was very well received, leading to the growth of the factory from one small location with 10 workers to 9,600 sqm (or around 6 Rai), which later expanded to cover 17,600 sqm (or around 11 Rai), with up to 1,600 workers, and it has now been moved to Kabinburi district, Prachinburi province on 128,000 sqm. (80 Rai), with the production capacity of 400 containers per year. After the success with natural rattan furniture, we attempted to discover new techniques in order to deliver an alternative to all rattan furniture lovers. In 1994; we’ve introduced “Synthetic rattan” to Thailand rattan furniture industry. Synthetic rattan is a very attractive alternative to natural rattan because of the similarities in texture and appearance. It is very flexible, resistant to UV rays and deterioration, resilient to all weather conditions whether it is snow or very high temperatures, in addition, the color does not fade and the materials are environmentally friendly and recyclable. It has become very popular for the export market and is clearly the perfect choice for both indoor and outdoor furniture. However, after our continuous research and development, the original synthetic rattan have been developed into a special kind of synthetic material that carries different characteristics in terms of shapes, styles, colors, and textures, and is after named “Durawera®”

Our highly specialized skill on rattan furniture, that has been developed through years of experience, has led to our expansion into all woven products. It includes the over work on rattan frame, wooden frame, wrought iron or aluminum frame, with beautiful and interesting materials such as, natural rattan, Durawera®, leather, and water hyacinth, We also have increased the product line that we carry in order to increase the use among all groups of customers. This includes customers who live an increasingly modern lifestyle. We also offer a “Custom made service” to make sure that our customers will own the furniture that is not only perfectly beautiful, but also especially designed to serve an individual needs, tastes, and lifestyles.
